PAM PANNASCH - March 2020

Sorry I am a little late in getting this out.  January was a little slow but we all deserved a bit of a rest after working so hard in December.  We managed to paint the Ladies Room in the lounge and do some decorating. It looks so much better and is definitely cleaner.  Still need a few touch ups but the majority of the work is done. Thank you to all who helped clean and paint.  It was long overdue. Had a great night mid-month rooting for our favorite college team be it LSU or Clemson.  LSU pulled it out!  Great night in lounge with friends. The Member Appreciation dinner went fantastic. The ribs were great. Such a great way to say thank you to all our members who support the Post.

February was a whirlwind for me. We welcomed a new member to our family. A new granddaughter Addilyn Louise Pannasch. She is perfect. Got to spend two weeks in Tampa with her, my grandson Parker, my son and his wife. While I was gone our Community Service Chair Lynda Cihanowic and many other wonderful Auxiliary ladies helped coordinate the delivery of over 100 shoe boxes to nursing homes in the area with toiletries and other fun stuff in them on Valentines Day. The boxes were decorated by Riverside Elementary School, filled by some of the Auxiliary members and other school teachers and aides.  Just to see the pictures of all of those who received the boxes was very heartwarming. We have to remember our elderly and our elderly Veterans. Sometimes we are the only people they get a visit from. A special Thank you to those of you who sold tickets for our Valentine’s Day basket. We earned over $900 for the Poppy Fund. Mary Clark said it wasn’t the record but close. Thank you to all who helped with the Community Project and donated to the basket. You ladies ROCKED IT!

I also attended the District Meeting in Destin in February.  It is always informative and it is so great to hear all the great things the other Units are doing.  Just to see and visit with everyone is always a pleasure. Also, it was great to be recognized as the top in our District as far as membership. 108% is phenomenal. Keep recruiting. There is so much good we can do in the community and for our Veterans.

In March we will start nominations of new officers for 2020-2021. Please, if you have ever considered holding an office come to the meeting March 10 at 6:30 pm so you can be added to the slate.  We need new ideas to keep growing.  You, however, don’t have to hold an office to help. Only through participation can we keep expanding our area of influence for our Veterans. Our District President will be present at this meeting so please try to attend.

Make sure to check out the calendar on our website for upcoming events and try to support our Unit and the Post when you can. If you have any questions or concerns you can email me via the Auxiliary President Contact Form at the bottom of this page and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We have a lot of exciting things coming up. Keep watching.
